Fear

In 'Fear' the emotion displayed, with no surprise, is fear. This poem expresses the narrators fear for her daughter and her future. In the text, she tends to repeat 'little girl', 'swallow', 'princess' and 'queen'. Expressing her fear that her daughter would become something of a princess and or queen, rather than her little girl.

Making A Fist

In 'Making A Fist' the emotion displayed is anxiety.  The narrator writes about how, when he was seven, he was anxious about the car ride to Tampico thinking he was going to die. He writes, 'I felt the life sliding out of me.' his mother then responds with 'when you can no longer make a fist.' It is shown in the last paragraph of the poem that he was just worrying, and was still very much alive, clearly showing anxiety.

The Guitar

In 'The Guitar' the emotion displayed is sadness. This poem, however, displays this emotion in a different way. It's written in a way that shows that the guitar itself represents sadness, and how it's sound is similar to a 'wail'. It also infers many different metaphors within the poem. Metaphors such as 'it weeps for distant things, warm southern sands desiring white camellias' and 'it mourns the arrow without a target' and many more.

There Will Come Soft Rains

In 'There Will Come Soft Rains' the emotion can be quite hard to find but in my opinion, but it could be nostalgia.

Nonetheless, the story talks about how the town has changed due to the supposed atomic bomb which wiped out the population, leaving robots to take care of the environment. This emotion can be displayed throughout the story, underlying the narrative. I especially notice it in the last paragraph of the story. Dawn showed faintly in the east. Among the ruins, one wall stood alone. Within the wall, a last voice said, over and over again and again, even as the sun rose to shine upon the heaped rubble and steam: "Today is August 5, 2026, today is August 5, 2026, today is..."

Tanka

In the Tanka written by Ono Komachi, the emotion displayed is love. The tanka expresses how the character wishes she had not wakened after having dreamt about 'him' that night. I would say this is a testament to how much she loved him.
